You can easily add product categories (or: tabs) to the cash register via the management environment. This allows you to organize your products in a logical way, and you can also easily set seasonal products. For example, you can choose to add an extra category 'Ice Cream' in the summer when you also sell ice cream.
Step 1. Go to the Product admin > Product categories. Here you can see the categories you have created. By clicking on the pencil in front of a category, you can edit an existing category. With the button 'Add product category' at the bottom of the page you can create a completely new category.
Step 2. Enter the name of the product category button behind 'Name on Terminal', for example 'Soft drinks'. This name is shown on the button on the cash register. After 'Name on Web', enter the name you want to display in the report. Usually these names are the same, but you can of course choose to show a more specific name in the report.
- Tip! If you want to create specific categories for the Pinkassa or for the PIO, create a separate category and name it, for example, 'Soft drinks PK' or 'Soft drinks PIO'. With this you can easily keep the different categories apart, and you can set them up quickly.
Step 3. You then determine where the category will appear on the cash register. You do this at 'In panel on row' and 'Panel order'. This is about the row (above or below) and the order of the categories.
Step 4. It is also possible to adjust the font size of the products.
Note: you do this per product category.
How do you do this?
Step 5. Go to the Product admin > Product Categories page. When opening a category you will see the option 'Font size'. This is set to 'default' by default. To adjust this, press the pencil on the left.
Step 6. A new screen will appear in which you can adjust the Font Size to the desired size.
Step 7. The category is automatically set to 'active'. If you don't want to show a certain category on the cash register, you can remove the check mark behind 'active'.
Step 8. Finally, save the changes by clicking 'Save'.
Step 9. In order to also implement the changes on the cash register, you must log it off and on. The cash register then retrieves the new data from the management environment and the category is no longer displayed.
