Below are the most common solutions for CCV Verifone PIN problems.
Note: Without paper, PIN is NOT possible (except VX820ITS/P400).
1. Pin doesn't work
2. Contactless payment no longer works
3. The cash register does not transfer the amount to the pin
4. Card Rejected
5. Paper jam (excluding VX820ITS/P400)
6. Check Internet Connection
7. Some keys do not work
8. Tamper notification
1. Pin doesn't work
- First check that all cabling is properly installed.
- Check whether the power is properly connected.
- Restart the cash register and the ATM.
- You can restart the cash register via the buttons Terminal > Restart.
- Disconnect the power for the ATM for 10 seconds and then reconnect it.
- Once the ATM has restarted, you can try to make another transaction.
2. Contactless payment no longer works
If contactless payment has worked, but suddenly no longer works, you can perform a Contact Acquirer. You do this as follows:
- Go to the Manager Menu
- Password 5 x 9, confirm with OK
- Functions
- CTAP
- Contact Acquirer
- Select the Acquirer (CCV, Equens, EMS)
- And press OK
- Wait a few seconds and then click STOP several times.
- Data is now being retrieved.
- After this process is complete, you can try to perform a contactless transaction again.
3. The cash register does not transfer the amount to the pin
- Check whether the cabling is correct.
- Make sure the internet cable is in the ATM (ETH/LAN port).
- Once this is done, reboot everything (both PIN and cash register).
- Try it again.
- Is the amount still not on the ATM?
- Please contact us. See contact details below.
4. Card rejected
- If this happens with multiple cards, it may indicate that there is not a good internet connection.
- To do this, follow the steps described under Check Internet Connection.
- If the internet has been checked and it works, try a Contact Acquirer.
5. Paper jam (excluding VX820ITS/P400)
Is there paper in it? If so, reverse the role and try making a trade again. It is possible that the correct paper is not in the pinterminal.
Check this by removing the roller and scratching the paper with your fingernail. Do you get dark scratches? Then this is the right paper. If not, order new Pinroles via our webshop: Twelve.eu/shop.
Without paper, you CANNOT pin.
6. Check Internet Connection
In most cases, a malfunction occurs if there is no working internet connection on the ATM.
- This can have several causes:
- Internet cable is not connected;
- Provider has a malfunction;
- Router/Switch is not on or has a malfunction;
- A new router/switch has been installed and not configured correctly.
- A quick and clear way to check whether there is a correctly working connection on the ATM is to do a Communication Test:
Go to the Manager Menu on the ATM:
- Password 5 x 9, confirm with OK
- Scroll down
- Select Diagnosis
- Select COMM Test
- Select Terminal
- Select All Connections
- The ATM will now start to rattle and after 30 seconds the receipt below will be issued.
- Verify that 5 times OK (see receipt below) or NOK
- If it says NOK, there is no good connection.
- OK means there is a working connection.
7. Some keys do not work
If some buttons on the ATM do not work, it may be advisable to clean it with a cloth and a little alcohol.
If this does not work, the machine is defective. This must then be replaced. Please contact us for this.
8. TAMPER notification
The Verifone CCV PIN terminal asks for a password. However, above it is the message TAMPER, as can be seen in the image below:
This is a problem that unfortunately we cannot solve remotely. The ATM has been shot into a security. Causes of the 'Tamper message' can be:
- Fall damage
- Moisture damage
- Broken open or some other hard knock that blocks the ATM.
